Saturday Snapshot — A Typical Fall Week

It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of October already!  Where has the time gone?

Next week is said to be the peak Fall foliage color display here in Asheville, but the weeks leading up to it have been so pretty and full of life, too.  We hope you are enjoying the Fall season in your neck of the woods.

Colorful mums are providing beautiful pops of color throughout Cove property.  This one is located on the porch of one of our cabins.  Doesn’t that rocking chair feel like it’s calling out to you? : )

We begin our days around here with staff devotions.  This week the maintenance crew and our bookstore manager treated our staff to a wonderful time of praise and worship.  And, we get to work here! Thank you, Jesus.  (Click here if you’d like to join our team.)

The last quarter of the year is very busy at The Cove (have you got your tickets to attend a Christmas at The Cove event?).  In an effort to keep us all sane, our Program department sets up a puzzle table so staff can stop by on their breaks or during lunch and do a little puzzle work.

Puzzling in action!

Bear sightings are fairly common during this time of year.  This cute little cub is either doing a stretch or attempting to practice some climbing techniques.  What do you think?

Here’s another peek at one of our larger resident bears.  Is that honey dripping from his chops?

Have a wonderful weekend, friends! May the Lord bless you and keep you.

“As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.” Psalm 42:1

It is so wonderful to see all the deer on our property this time of year.  This week we’ve had a mama and her fawn that greeted some of our staff right outside their office windows.  The others (four of them, but could only get three in the picture!) were caught crossing the road early one morning.

The video below was filmed almost exactly two years ago in our staff parking lot, but we wanted to share with you today because you don’t get to see this type of footage very often.  Enjoy!
