Saturday Snapshot — Quiet and Busy

It’s been quiet around The Cove the last couple of weeks.  After a busy year of ministry, many of our staff are taking time off to rest and enjoy time with family.

As you can see, the deer are enjoying the space normally occupied by our RV (Recreational vehicle) volunteers.  Click here to read more about that ministry.

The nearly 10 miles of walking trails have not seen much activity in the last couple of weeks either.  Just look how the ice has formed on a branch hanging over the creek!  To put it in perspective, the largest ice formation in the middle of the picture is the size of a 16-ounce bottle and appears to be hollow inside!  God never ceases to amaze, does He?!

Meanwhile, over at Pilgrim’s Inn this week there is a flurry of activity.  Because we don’t have many guests staying in our inns during a pocket of time between late December and early January, we use that time to take on big cleaning and/or construction projects.  This winter, our big project is the completion of the Pilgrim’s Inn renovation.  We’ve updated all the inn rooms at Shepherd’s Inn and one half at Pilgrim’s Inn over the last few years, and this is the last phase of that renovation project.

Here’s a look at some of the work that took place this past week.  We’d appreciate your prayers for safety and favor during this project.

We look forward to providing a lovely updated inn-room for your next stay at The Cove!

Happy New Year, friends! We look forward to seeing you back here, or in person, in 2018.

Saturday Snapshot — Will Graham Teaches From The Book of 1 Samuel

Will Graham taught on 1 Samuel this past weekend, at The Cove.  From the disobedience of Saul, resulting in the loss of his position as king, to the anointing of David, a young shepherd boy, to the famous story of David and Goliath, Will taught how God’s Word shows us how to abide in HIS presence, grow in courage to obey HIM, and experience a life of adventure.

Here are a few snapshots from the weekend…

Always begin with prayer…

Saturday Snapshot — A Behind The Scenes Peek at Our Video Shoot

This week we were working on a new promotional video for The Cove.  This is to update the current video (you can see it here) for our Guest Groups area of ministry.

Wondering what a Guest Group is?

A Guest Group is a group that holds their own conference, retreat, or ministry event at The Cove.  They come with their own agenda, their own program, and their own speakers, and we provide the meeting space, the inn rooms and the delicious food.

Groups tell us, time and again, that The Cove is the perfect, distraction-free place for them to come and accomplish their ministry goals.  Our dedicated event planners make it a point to take care of all the details, so that when our groups come, they can get right down to what it is that God is leading them to do.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes pictures of the filming.

Gigi Graham greeting guests as they arrive at the Training Center.   If you’ve been here, you’ve probably been greeted by Gigi, either at the front door or in the dining room.  She loves meeting Cove guests and extending the warm Graham-family welcome.

Guests love spending time on the Training Center deck.  With tables, rocking chairs, and mountain views, who wouldn’t?

Yep, we brought the drone back out!  The drone captured some great aerial video of the Training Center, the Chapel, the front gate, and our private cabin road.

The Cove dining experience is a delicious one.  The tables in the dining room are round with Lazy-Suzans in the center of each.  Mrs. Graham loved a round table and she said that the Lazy Suzan helped keep her children competitive.  ; )

Our chef, Douglas Walls, and his team prepare wonderful menus of fresh, delicious food.  Here we caught him in action, doing what he does best.

Potato salad anyone?  You can probably tell from the amount of potatoes in the mixer, but to give you a different perspective, this mixer is about 4 feet tall!

At the end of every day, our guests will find a warm and inviting guest room to lay their heads down.  This is a shot of guests checking in at Pilgrim’s Inn.

We look forward to sharing the new Guest Group promotional video with you later this year or early January 2018.

Have a blessed weekend, friends!

Korean Worship at The Cove

Korean Worship August 1 2013Have you experienced Korean worship?

If you have not, it is a treat like no other!

We had a wonderful group staying at The Cove this week who were here to focus on prayer, evangelism and Bible teaching.

A benefit of working at The Cove is that our staff witness beautiful moments of worship shared by the groups meeting here.

All the words sung by this group were Korean, but it didn’t matter if our staff was able to understand the language or not, the Holy Spirit filled the room, and THAT was felt by all!

Watch and listen here as voices and hearts were lifted in worship to our Almighty God.
