Christmas Time: A Psalm by Quinn Graham

As we approach Christmas, may we all remember the true meaning and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “Christmas Time” paints a beautiful picture of Christmas.

Christmas Time

Christmas time

The best time of the year

Wake up early and see the gifts

The fireplace roars with heat

Watch the snow slowly fall to the ground

Hot cocoa gets passed around

Everyone is warm and snuggles

Everyone opens up their gifts

Gleaming smiles always on their faces

Soon a Bible gets pulled out

Everyone is silent as the father reads the Christmas story

With all the gifts unwrapped, and the hot cocoa all gone, they head off

They head off to Church, for Christmas is the day that Jesus was born

They worship and sing hymns throughout the service

As they day gets dark and as the noises quiet down

The family gathers around with friends and family to eat a feast that the Lord has provided

The Lord is good, always, and He will always provide

He gave us His Son whom He sent down for us this day

Thank you for all that You have done Lord

Thanksgiving: A Psalm by Quinn Graham

As we approach the week of Thanksgiving,  it is a good time to remember everything that we can be thankful for and to give God our praise. Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “Thanksgiving” is a great reminder to be thankful. Let’s start our weekend with a thankful heart.

Thanksgiving

The day of thanks and giving has come

Thanksgiving is the day where we give thanks to God

He gave us life

He died for us, for our   sins

He gave us this land which now we call home

Now it’s our time to give our thanks to God

We celebrate our Thanksgiving in the name of God

We pray before we cut the turkey that He has provided us

We gather our families to have a special dinner

The dinner wouldn’t be there without God

We have faith and hope in God

We give our thanks to God

God gives us eternal life

That is what Thanksgiving is about

Never Give Up: Quinn Graham

We have a modern-day psalmist on our hands:  Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “Never Give Up” is a great reminder that we can get through anything with God.

NEVER GIVE UP: By Quinn Graham

Never give up

Never let the Devil win

You can do it!

You can do it through God

You can do anything through Him

You just can’t give up

Give up and the Devil wins

Don’t give up and you win

But you can’t do everything

That’s why God helps

He helps you fight the Devil

He helps you make the Devil lose

Believe in God and never give up.

My Best Friend: Quinn Graham

We have a modern-day psalmist on our hands:  Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “My Best Friend,” was inspired by Quinn’s  friendship with Mr. Chuck…

My Best Friend

(For my best friend Mr. Chuck)

Who is the best friend anyone can ever have?

He cares for me when I am alone

He gives me wonderful gifts which I don’t deserve

He does many more things for me, yet I can only give back little

All I can do for him is vacuum and clean his house that isn’t really dirty

In return he gives me amazing gifts like a robot set

He loves God very much

He loves me very much

And I love him very much

For he is my best friend

I will always be a faith friend to him

Because he is also a faithful friend to me

Mr. Chuck has shown me more friendship than I have ever seen

Thank you, Mr. Chuck, for being the best friend anyone can have!

God’s Endless Love: Quinn Graham

We have a modern-day psalmist on our hands:  Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “God’s Endless Love,” was inspired by a message Quinn recently heard his dad preach. Enjoy this reminder of God’s love…

God’s Endless Love
By: Quinn Graham

God loves us all

No matter what we do He loves us

We murder, steal, fight, and break the Ten Commandments

He still loves us

He never will forget us

He will never stop loving on us

He came down to earth for us

We tortured Him by beating Him up and then hanging Him on a cross to die

Yet, He still said that He loved us even though He was dying on the cross

Three days later He came back from the dead

He came back not in revenge  for what we did to Him

But He came back in love

And His endless love will never end

He will love every single person on earth forever

No matter what we do He loves us.

Don’t Run Away: A Psalm by Quinn Graham

Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “Don’t Run Away,” was inspired by a message Quinn recently heard his dad preach.

Don’t Run Away!

I.

You may be down today

You may be angry

Angry with God because you think that He let you down

You just want to run away from God

You want to live life your own way with your own rules

Don’t run away!

If you decide to run away nothing will turn out well

Running away makes it worse

You could waste all your money on cigarettes and alcohol

II.

Soon you may get tired of living without God

You will want to come back to God, back home

God will always be on the lookout

He won’t stop looking until you come back

Once you finally come back to God, He will fix everything

When you turn your life the opposite direction

All of heaven will rejoice because you come back home

Don’t run away

Miracles: A Psalm by Quinn Graham

We have a modern-day psalmist on our hands:  Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “Miracles,” was inspired by a message Quinn recently heard his dad preach. Enjoy this reminder that God is always working on our behalf.  Miracles are all around us!

Miracles happen all the time

We may see it or not

Miracles happen to you every day

We just need to open our eyes

Miracles aren’t coincidences

Coincidences have no meaning

But miracles have a meaning

You may wonder how you can tell if it’s a miracle or not

All you need to do is open your eyes

Open your eyes so that you can see what God really does

Open your eyes so that you may see the kingdom of heaven

God does miraculous things

We just don’t see them all time

Miracles happen everyday

To you, me, your friend, or maybe even the haters of God

God does miracles for everyone

Miracles change our lives

Time: A Psalm by Quinn Graham

Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special psalm to share. This one, entitled “Time,” was inspired by a message Quinn recently heard his dad preach. A great reminder that your life has purpose and such great value…

Time
Time is very important
Time goes by very quickly
We don’t have infinite time
Our time can end at any time
We have a beginning and an end on earth
We can choose how to live life
We can choose to go our own way and not care about God
Or we can choose to go God’s way
You probably won’t spend your time wisely if you go your way
When you accept God into your life you wish you had done it earlier
God will help you spend your time wisely
God helps you make every second of your life have a purpose
But when we get to heaven we will have all the time
How now will you spend your time?

God’s Gifts: A Psalm by Quinn Graham

We have a modern-day psalmist on our hands:  Quinn Graham, Will Graham’s son and Billy Graham’s great-grandson, has written a special  psalm to share. This one, entitled “God’s Gifts,” was inspired by a message Quinn recently heard his dad preach. Enjoy this reminder of God’s goodness, love and grace…

God’s Gifts
God has a gift for everyone
There is no price
His gift is free
His gift is eternal life
This gift is free because He loves us
He paid the price for us
He was beaten and suffered on the cross for us
He paid the price
He bridged the gap for us
So that we can come to Heaven
And spend eternal life with Him

Gods gift isn’t just eternal life
He gives us peace
So that we won’t fear anymore
He gives us joy
So that we can rejoice in His name
He gives us a purpose                                              A purpose that no one else has
He gives us spiritual life
This spiritual life is our new life with God
Spiritual life tells God that we can come up to heaven
His last gift is forgiveness
The only way to heaven is forgiveness
The only way to be forgiven is accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior
Have you accepted Jesus into your life?

Saturday Snapshot: Spring at The Cove

Spring at The Cove

One of the most beautiful times of the year at The Cove is spring. The flowers are blooming, birds are singing, and the trails are perfect for hiking. It’s a time to be outside and enjoy God’s beautiful creation.

The tulips planted by the entrance are showing their bright spring colors.

As you drive through, you are met with beauty and reminded of God’s most perfect creation. “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”(John 1:3)

When you enter The Cove, you can leave the world behind and have a time of rest.  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

The beautiful trails and creeks lining our property offer great opportunities for hiking or just sitting on a bench while you listen to the birds sing and the water bubbling over the rocks.

As you head towards our chapel, you will see even more beautiful flowers along the way. The chapel is open for visitors and is a wonderful place to come and sit for a while to pray.

To end today’s blog, we’ve included a special poem about Spring that was  written by Quinn Graham (son of Will Graham) right before Easter.  Quinn is 12 years old and loves to write psalms. May this “Psalm of Spring” bless you!

Spring is Right Around the Corner

“The cold winter winds are almost over
The winter snow all gone
The trees start sprouting their green leaves
The nice warm air is almost here
Easter is also right around the corner
Soon we will celebrate the day that Jesus rose from the dead
We will all rejoice
Because Jesus is not dead
Spring is right around the corner
The day of life waking up
Just as Jesus rose from the dead
Animals start coming out of hibernation
And plants start sprouting
The wonderful spring life is almost upon us.”

We hope you’ll come visit us at The Cove this spring! We have some wonderful seminars, events, and guest concerts, or you can create your own spiritual retreat.
